We were up very early for our walk

a new perspective of the lake, when viewed from early morn

i have photographed the sunset but not the early dawn

it was pretty and light with the sun dancing only on the lake

The air was oppressive and heavy, the sky a mutant grey, 

it's a shame as it is, we think, the lac's official opening day

open to lots of  different water sport, 

paddling, canoeing, rafting anything but the mechanised sort

This morning we left before ten

temperatures were already soaring even then

Pom pom and marc join us for the walk

they amble around while we just talk

Farmers are spraying the crops, it has been very humid and dry

we watch the chub in the shallows along with other small fry

Milou is uncomfortable and very very hot

we will not walk in the afternoon, after today, that's our lot!

Bright blue and sunny, they are cutting more grass for the big day

making it all tidy and neat

some of the banks are quite sheer, making it quite a feat

there is long grass on the other side

leaving somewhere for small creatures to hide

Swallows wend their way down the same path catching flies

Milou and i increase our pace under ever threatening skies

the diversity of nature is fantastic here

along with the sights and the sounds that we constantly hear

Sorry that today's hike-ku had to wait

we did not get in last night until very late
