There is pomp and pageant in our town
with children in their favourite costumes marching up and down
from scratchy speakers, the theme to the lion king
it's a beautiful bright day and everything is in full swing!
the market is busy which is good to see
fruit full for the towns economy

Friday, 21 February 2014

Today is our regular Friday date with Jan
off with Taj, together they ran
today was a bit miserable cold and wet
but it STILL....doesn't feel like winter yet
we met only a clean looking man and his very clean dog
judging also, his pristine car he has not realised
in places, it is just a muddy bog

Thursday, 20 February 2014

Today we met Elvira and Alice by chance
also pom pom so they were all set free for a right song and dance
Elvira and i had a chat, we met a french friend of hers
they spoke in french, it is good for me
whilst the three dogs, in their own language ran free

Milou is running with another old pal
Verlaine is a very pretty gal
We met with Elvira and Klaus on the other side of the lake
where both Alice and Verlaine went into the water
and came out with a most vigorous shake

Tuesday, 18 February 2014

It was not Milou's main walk of the day
but we started at the tennis courts
where she chased all the balls in play
she is good at retrieving the ball and bringing it back
as a tennis coaches dog she is on the right track
sometimes it is hard for a dog to let a ball go
for Milou it's all in a day's work and she'll go with the flow

Monday, 17 February 2014

It was a beautiful sunny very warm day
we could have easily been in the month of May
i see fresh tracks, of what i think are deer
it does not take long for the three of them to appear
their bouncing white backsides give them away
dancing off as in a countryside ballet

Sunday, 16 February 2014

Ten degrees, warmish but dull and very grey
after yesterday's blip, i am back to my usual self today
Milou, Marc and I traverse the lac
pom pom is waiting along the track
violets are now beginning to bloom
as are the catkins and the first buds, on all the birch
 and some of the shrubs
