The mountains are beautifully lit the sky a thunderous grey
will we get back without being drenched on the way
the wind has picked up once more
and the waves are again, lapping at the shore
more wildflowers are evident, beginning to show
some to identify and some i already know

Friday, 7 February 2014

It is Friday and our usual date for fun and play
Taj and Jan who is twenty one (and a bit) today
celandine's and dandelion on the banks are starting to appear
that vivid yellow that tells me that spring is near
it is twelve degrees today and does not feel like winter yet
for my four legged thick coated furry lined pet

Thursday, 6 February 2014

There is a spectacular light, between sunshine and rain
we are back, following the familiar track again
the lac is still high with the waves lapping the shore
two measuring sticks disappeared below, not to be seen anymore.
February is the time to ski,
there is plenty of snow on the mountains as far as we can see

Wednesday, 5 February 2014

We all went further afield to play
with friends across the border to Spain for the day
high mountains covered in snow
bouldered rivers winding below
we had tapas in a pretty village, under the peaks
warmth, good food and company was all we seeked

Tuesday, 4 February 2014

We awoke to the most amazing morning
despite a tinge of pink, a shepherds warning
we observed a jay scratching the banks
feathers that matched the sky that gleamed on his flanks
a ceiling of almost tropical blue
and on our new walk a charming chateau to view

Monday, 3 February 2014

Today my hike took different routes
off to Bazordan to plant our fève shoots
Milou made a new feisty furry friend
if she was not careful, it could be a grizzly end
the snow capped mountains make great views from here
the sky was cloudless although winter grey, very clear

Sunday, 2 February 2014

The clouds are a wash of ink
it feels cold enough for snow, i think
undeterred Milou bounds around
the cold is not enough to bother our shaggy hound
a great white egret glides along the shore
just as Milou, Marc and i finish our tour
