I am ashamed to say that Milou and i did not venture out
today, for only one day did this last, the drought
it rained all morning and late into the night
and even when Milou looked, she thought it was really not alright

Friday, 31 January 2014

The water in the lake is still unbelievably high
the sun is out with a little breeze, our track is beginning to dry
their are sounds of clucking and crowing from a neighbouring farm
little things, that on our walks always add, for me, a certain charm

Thursday, 30 January 2014

Milou was excited at seeing her pal, a day earlier this week
as we had something planned, and the agenda was tweaked
Jan and i put the world to rights
as we talked about the ex-pats and our many plights

Wednesday, 29 January 2014

It is very late afternoon the sun is glinting through the trees
the sun has been bright with a very slight breeze
Milou is spooked by a couple of dogs that we passed
before i could stop her, she has run and over a busy road very fast
eventually i catch up with her and she ventures back
having given her owner another near heart attack

Tuesday, 28 January 2014

Today we walked new roads in and around our town
when we get home, Milou will not be subjected to a hose down
the mountains are crystal clear and have multiplied over night
bringing the foremost and all at the back into one incredible sight

Monday, 27 January 2014

We went down to Bazordan for a walk in the woods today
with an old friend for Milou to meet and play
sizzles and Milou jumped and bounded about
while Ali and i walked whilst the banks still flooded out

Sunday, 26 January 2014

The lake is a different colour, patches of muddy brown
torrential rain for the past week has churned the bottom around
the water on the banks are extremely high
it will take a lot more of this sunny morning, to make our sodden track dry
