I saw my first Hoopoe of the year today
A flash of pink and the black and white bars on the wings,
gave it away
it is about the same as a woodpecker in size
and has the same undulating pattern as it flies

credit to Steve Nash (it was very late last night steve, sorry i did not to ask you first)

Friday, 30 May 2014

It is Friday again
we have, yet more rain
It is still great to walk
chatter and talk
by the end we are a little soggy
and so are both the doggies

Thursday, 29 May 2014

This afternoon a shortish walk around the lac
i walked along the jetty then stretched in the sun, upon my back
it is so very peaceful and very tranquil here
the splash of tiny little fish is all that gently caresses my ears

Wednesday, 28 May 2014

We saw neither a soul, on, or around are lake
until we reached the other side
where are special solitary grebe is waiting to do a dive
the long tall grass is buzzing with sound
nature's music, is very peaceful, i have found

Milou had a very long wait for her walk
we were longer than expected by a very long chalk
on a mission to various shops
very fruitful but lots of stops

Monday, 26 May 2014

Milou and I walk after lunch we try to dodge heavy showers
good for all the crops, the wildlife and the flowers
water is flowing off the land and terrain
as for the the last twenty-four hours, we have seen a lot of rain

Sunday, 25 May 2014

Mark, Milou and I went to see if our friends from oz had arrived
for the last seven months we have not seen them and feel deprived
the grass on the land had been roughly cut
but know signs of life from their beautiful timberland hut
